National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM) has for the first time taken-up the Live Streaming of Technology Demonstration sessions of the Organization, over internet with zero expenditure both to the organizing agency, i.e., NIPHM and the end viewer / participants. The services of third party solution provider www.livestream.com are being used for the purpose.

addressing the viewers as part of Live Technology Demonstration
The outcome of the initiative is a seamless video streaming, such as webcasting done during elections. But the beauty of the initiative is such that the live demo can be viewed by any number of viewers across the globe with a bare gmail id / facebook id and for no cost. The viewer’s just need to register and login to the URL link provided by NIPHM, which is sent through SMS (almost 5000 agricultural professionals in Telangana & A.P. are accessible through Mobile Phone initially) prior to the event date and time. NIPHM is preparing a database of contact numbers of all Agriculture professionals across India for the purpose.
The initiative helps the participating agencies to urge their personnel to view the live demo instead of visiting NIPHM personally. This saves in time and money both for the organizing agency NIPHM and the participating agencies. It is due to this, only those training programs, which need hands-on training, shall be conducted in NIPHM physically and all technology demonstration programs can be live streamed to the participants.
The live-streaming is done with mere mobile phone with 3G/4G internet connectivity and the live demo can be viewed in mobile devices / laptops/ desktops etc.
The live streaming feature was inaugurated by Sh. S.K. Pattanayak, Hon’ble Secretary (AC&FW), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 20-SEP-2016.
NIPHM, recently conducted a test run of the Live demo of “Simple Ecological Engineering Techniques in Agriculture & Horticulture Crops” and is continuing its live demo sessions with prior intimations to the prospective viwers.
