MoU Signing with PJTAU

MoU Signed with PJTAU

The NIPHM, Hyderabad, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PJTAU on 24th September 2025 at Hyderabad.

The MoU was signed in the august presence of Prof. Aldas Janaiah, Vice Chancellor, PJTAU, and Dr. Sagar Hanuman Singh, IPoS, Director General, NIPHM, along with senior officials from both institutions.

Post Graduate Diploma in Plant Health Management (PGDPHM) Programme

Course Design & Framework

This one-year programme is spread over two Semesters, comprising a total of 40 credits, and is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Key features:

Balanced focus on theoretical and practical learning. Industry internship of at least 60 working days, aimed at equipping students with hands-on experience and skills to perform in real-world, challenging environments.

Eligibility

  • B.Sc. (Agri. or Hort.)
  • B.Sc. in Agri. & Rural Dev.
  • B.Tech. (Agri. Engg.)
  • M.Sc. in Life Sciences
  • Five seats reserved for B.Sc. (Chemistry) for specialization in Pesticide Management only

The programme includes semester-wise curriculum with:

Diploma in Plant Health Management (DPHM) Programme

Course Design & Framework

The Diploma in Plant Health Management (DPHM) is designed to build skilled technical personnel to address plant health challenges in the field.

  • Focus on practical pest and disease management
  • Emphasis on biosecurity, biocontrol, and IPM strategies
  • Designed for frontline extension officers and graduates
  • Modules in plant protection, diagnostics, and pesticide use
  • Training in laboratories, model farms, and real-world field conditions

This six-month programme carries a total of 20 credits and emphasizes participatory learning through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory work, and field visits.

  • Strengthens observational and analytical skills through field-based exposure
  • Practical training via Agro-ecosystem analysis through Farmers Field Schools (FFS)
  • Hands-on experience in core plant health management practices

Graduates in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Life sciences/ B.Sc. in Agri. & Rural Dev/ B.Tech. (Agri. Engg.)
